What Is Wordfeud?
Wordfeud is a mobile word game created by Bertheussen IT, a Norwegian software company. Available on iOS and Android, it lets players take turns placing letter tiles on a 15×15 board to form words and score points — think Scrabble in your pocket, playable against friends or random opponents anywhere in the world.
Each player holds a rack of seven tiles and tries to build words that connect with tiles already on the board, landing on premium squares to multiply letter or word scores. Wordfeud supports multiple languages and allows boards with either fixed or randomised premium square positions, adding an extra layer of strategy that keeps every game different.
Find Your Best Wordfeud Play
The hardest part of Wordfeud isn't knowing words — it's spotting them under pressure when your rack looks like an impossible jumble. This helper takes your tiles and does the hard work instantly, showing every valid word you can form, sorted by score so your strongest play is always at the top.
Enter your seven tiles and tap Find Words. If you want to build off a letter already on the board, include that letter too — the tool will find every word that uses it. Use the length chips to filter results by word length, and tap any word to copy it and check its dictionary definition before committing to a play.
One thing to keep in mind: Wordfeud's dictionary overlaps heavily with standard English word lists but isn't identical. The Standard dictionary used here (ENABLE, 172,000+ words) covers the vast majority of valid Wordfeud plays. If a word you expect doesn't appear, switch to the Extended dictionary in Options — it adds roughly 77,000 more words for deeper coverage.
How to Use This Wordfeud Helper
- 1
Type the letters from your Wordfeud rack into the box at the top. If you want to build off a board tile, include that letter too. Only letters and ? count — spaces and punctuation are ignored.
- 2
For each blank tile in your rack, type a ? character. You can add as many as you have. Blank tiles are shown with a dashed outline and score zero points.
- 3
Watch your tiles appear below the input. Regular tiles show their point value; blank tiles appear as empty placeholders with a running total alongside.
- 4
Tap Find Words. Every valid word you can form appears instantly, grouped by length with the highest-scoring words first. Words that require a blank tile show the substituted letter underlined in orange.
- 5
Use the length chips to jump to a specific word length — useful when you know exactly how many tiles you need to reach a premium square.
- 6
Tap any word to copy it to your clipboard and open its dictionary definition — handy for double-checking a word is valid before you play it.
- 7
For broader coverage, tap Options and switch the Dictionary dropdown to Extended, loading a ~249,000-word list on demand.
- 8
Use the Must Include, Starts With, and Ends With filters to narrow results when you need a word that fits a specific board position.
Tips for Winning at Wordfeud
Blank tiles are the most powerful tiles in Wordfeud — they can become any letter you need. When you have one, type ? alongside your regular letters and the helper will find every word the blank can unlock, highlighting the substituted letter in orange so you know exactly which letter to place.
Premium squares are everything in Wordfeud. Before you play the obvious word, use the length chips to see if a slightly different word length lets you land on a Double Word or Triple Word square — the score difference can be enormous. A blank tile can be the difference between reaching a premium square and missing it entirely.
Don't ignore short words. Two- and three-letter words are often the key to unlocking awkward board positions, opening up new lines of play or blocking your opponent from reaching premium squares. Every search here includes them.
Stuck with a rack full of vowels or consonants? Use the Starts With and Ends With filters to test common letter patterns, or hit the shuffle button to see your tiles in a fresh order — sometimes a new arrangement is all it takes to spot a word hiding in plain sight.
If your opponent has blocked the best spots, add a board letter to your rack in the input and look for words that branch in a new direction. Including an existing tile opens up plays your rack alone wouldn't show.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Wordfeud?
Wordfeud is a mobile word game created by Bertheussen IT, available on iOS and Android. Players take turns placing letter tiles on a 15×15 board to form words and score points, playing against friends or random opponents online. It supports multiple languages and both fixed and randomised board layouts.
How does this Wordfeud helper work?
Enter the letters from your Wordfeud rack — plus any board tile you want to build from — and tap Find Words. Include ? for each blank tile you hold. The tool instantly shows every valid word you can form, grouped by length and sorted by score, with blank-covered letters underlined in orange so you know which letter to place.
How do I use blank tiles in the search?
Type ? for each blank tile in your rack alongside your regular letters. You can add as many ? characters as you have blanks. The helper finds every word the blanks can unlock — blank-covered letters score zero points and appear underlined in orange in the results, showing exactly which letter each blank needs to represent.
Does Wordfeud use the same words as Scrabble?
Wordfeud has its own dictionary which overlaps heavily with standard English word lists. This tool uses the ENABLE word list (172,000+ words), which covers the vast majority of valid Wordfeud plays. Switch to Extended in Options for broader coverage of rarer words.
Are the letter scores the same in Wordfeud as in Scrabble?
Wordfeud letter values are similar to Scrabble but differ slightly for some letters. The scores shown here are a close guide to relative tile value and will help you identify high-scoring plays, even if the exact totals differ slightly from your Wordfeud board.
Can I include a letter already on the board?
Yes. Just add that board letter to your rack in the input box along with your 7 tiles. The tool will find every word that uses it, so you can see what plays are possible from that position.
What dictionary does this tool use?
By default, results are checked against the ENABLE word list — more than 170,000 English words used across major word games. For broader coverage, open Options and switch to Extended, which loads a ~249,000-word list on demand.
Why are some words hidden under "Naughty words"?
To keep the main results family-friendly by default, any words that are commonly considered offensive are grouped separately and stay hidden until you choose to show them.
Is this tool free, and does it work on mobile?
Yes to both. It's completely free with no sign-up required, and the layout adapts to phones and tablets — handy for checking plays while you have Wordfeud open on the same device.
